    Happy Memorial Day to all!

    April 2009 Books Read

    Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Happy Wednesday! Anyone watch American Idol last night? I’m thinking either Adam or Kris could win, but my vote went to Adam. Don’t get me wrong, I really like both Adam and Kris, I just think Adam deserves to win after the season of performances he’s given.

Anyway, here is the list of books I read in April:

    1. The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
    2. The Husband by Dean Koontz
    3. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione
    4. Picture Perfect by Jodi Picoult

March was a little slow for reading for me, but I enjoyed each of the books I read. I’m a new fan of Alexander McCall Smith and have book 2 and 3 of The No. 1 Ladies Detective series waiting in my TBR pile. Right now, I’m reading Lover Avenged by JR Ward, as well as a book on WITSEC.

So far, through April, I’ve read 21 books in 2009 (not counting books from contests and manuscripts I’ve critiqued). Lately, I’ve been on a suspense bend, so I have some new authors to try in June. What have you read recently? Anyone new to you?

    Don’t Forget!

This week at The Novel Girls, we’re sharing what’s on our Ipods.  We’d love it if you stopped in!

Newsletters should finally (and really) be going out soon! Look for them in your e-mail before the end of the month.

    Blink…

    Monday, May 18th, 2009

And time flies. There’s been a heck of a lot happening, lately. Too much, honestly! So, once again, I’m behind on blogging, getting my newsletter out, and a slew of other things. Today I’m back in business, though, so things should be flying forward from here on out. Hopefully!

The last several weeks have had a bunch of my favorite shows season enders, and wow–some of them have me lost in thought.

    1. Lost, for instance. There are soooo many possibilities of where they could take the show for the last season, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
    2. And holy cow, what about Supernatural? I never, seriously, saw the twist with Lillith coming. I knew there was something we didn’t know about Sam and his ability, but I never guessed he was being set up for what actually happened (at least, in the way it happened).
    3. Grey’s Anatomy had me surprised, too. With the George storyline, especially.
    4. And Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, and Desperate Housewives all have left me with questions…lots of questions.

And then there’s Fringe, Castle, and…hmm, maybe that’s it. Regardless, I’m hoping Castle is coming back next year because it’s turned into one of my newest favorites.

That’s it for now! Hopefully, I’ll have some news to share soon…will keep you posted! I’m also behind on listing my books read for April, so will get that in this week too.

    Have a great Monday!

    Don’t Forget

At The Novel Girls, we’re talking about What’s on our Ipods this week. My post is rather short, but still…come check it out!

And it’s my day at the Ohio Romance Writers My Space…I’m talking about birthdays. Hope to see you there!

    Happy Mother’s Day!

    Monday, May 4th, 2009

Rather than talk about how we celebrate Mother’s Day at my house, I’d like to, instead, share a little about my mother.

As a child, like most little girls, I imagine, I thought my mother was the most beautiful, funny, smart, creative, and impressive woman alive. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. By the time I’d reached my teenage years, a lot of these thoughts had…well, changed. I still loved my mother, but the love was hidden beneath a vat of teenage angst. We didn’t get along very well most of the time, we fought often, and I swore that I would *never* be like her.

I’m a little behind on getting my Newsletter out, but the plan is by next week no matter what! Huge apologies to anyone waiting to read the first chapter of A STROKE OF MAGIC. Hopefully, this next week will behave and I’ll have it out soon!

    Don’t Forget!

This week we’re talking about Mother’s Day at The Novel Girls. Stop in, say hi, let us know you’re there! :)

Dorchester Publishing now has widgets that allow readers to read approximately 10 percent of a book before buying. Right now, all of their 2008 titles, and 2009 titles through April, have widgets. Go check it out! Here’s the widget for A TASTE OF MAGIC:

     Pretty sweet, huh?

And over at Dorchester Editor Leah Hultenschmidt’s blog, she’s holding a super fun Mother’s Day contest. The Grand Prize is 7 Dorchester titles…A Taste of Magic being one of them. Go enter! There is a clue to one of the answers somewhere at www.tracymadison.com. :)
