    A Day In The Life

    Monday, April 27th, 2009

I’ve always loved reading “Day in the Life” posts from other bloggers, especially when they’ve been written by agents, editors, and other authors. It’s like a peek into their life, and how cool is that, right? But now it’s my turn to write about a day in MY life, and I gotta say before I get started: it’s a little crazy at my house. But living it is a lot crazier than it sounds in text…in text, it’s kind of boring sounding.

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend! It was busy at my house, but busy is good. Especially because I’m finally (get ready to cheer) over the month-and-a-half cold/flu that had refused to leave. Yay!

Of course, now that I’m healthy, I’m looking at all the things I let slide by. There’s a lot of those things, so I’m going to be even busier playing catch-up. Though, I made a lot of progress last week and over the weekend, so the week is already starting off good.

And…to anyone waiting on my next newsletter, it should be out by the end of the week. That’s my goal, anyway. :)

For a (shhh) secret reason, here’s a pic of me from a really long time ago. :)

    Don’t Forget!

This week, The Novel Girls are each sharing a day in their life. Stop in and see how we spend our hours.

A Stroke of Magic releases on June 30, 2009! Look for another Release-Month celebration filled with great guest authors, contests, and fun in June.

    March 2009 Books Read

    Friday, April 24th, 2009

I’m a little (okay, a lot) late in this post, but here are the books I read in March:

    1. The September Sisters by Jillian Cantor
    2. The Next Accident by Lisa Gardner
    3. Blood Dreams by Kay Hooper
    4. The Family He Wanted by Karen Sandler
    5. Reining in the Rancher by Karen Templeton
    6. Marley & Me by John Grogan

March was a great reading month, as I loved each of the books I read. April has been turning out well too! Right now, I’m reading The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith and am already addicted, so I know I’ll be picking up the rest of the series.

So far, through March, I’ve read 17 books in 2009, and for the most part, have really enjoyed all of the reads. What about you? Are you reading anything terrific right now?

I promised I’d share some other awesome reviews for A TASTE OF MAGIC. They are:

Emily at Reading Romance Books says, Ms. Madison led this reader on a playful romp and I am eager for her next book,  A Stroke of Magic coming in July. The continuation of the gypsy magic story with Liz’s sister, Alice. I, for one, really want to know why Liz’s mother didn’t get the gift!”

The entire review can be read HERE!

Becky at The Book Bitch wrote, “This contemporary romance debut with a sweet touch of magic is the first in a new series — a cute and light read.”

You can read the entire review HERE!

I thought there were a few more, but I can’t seem to locate them at the moment. When I do, I’ll share the links. :)

    Don’t Forget!

This week is all about pets at The Novel Girls. We’d love it if you stopped in!

Family Pets & My First Book Signing!

    Monday, April 20th, 2009

I grew up in a house where dogs lived as well as the human occupants. We never had cats or any other type of pet, but we always had at least one dog, sometimes two. And oh were they spoiled. I remember trips to McDonald’s where my folks would also purchase a cheeseburger for the dogs. Our pets were allowed on the furniture, on our beds, and were treated with presents on Christmas, doggy baskets on Easter, and as much love as we could possibly give them.

You can read the rest of this post at The Novel Girls!

In other news, I had my first book singing at Books-A-Million on Saturday, April 18th. The folks there were really terrific, and I had a great time meeting lots of people. I’ll be scheduling another signing there for the release of A STROKE OF MAGIC sometime in July. I’ll keep everyone posted!

    Don’t Forget!

This week, The Novel Girls are talking about pets. Come say hi and see what we have to say!

I’ll be sending an excerpt for A STROKE OF MAGIC to my newsletter list soon. If you haven’t signed up yet, you have about a week!

Check back later this week to see some new revies for A TASTE OF MAGIC!

Coloring Easter Eggs and MARCH CONTEST WINNERS!

    Monday, April 6th, 2009

Rather than talk about Easter as a whole, I’m going to focus on just one of Easter’s traditions – coloring Easter eggs.

As a kid, I loved coloring eggs. Being the creative child I was, I enjoyed the process of dying the eggs in some crazy design far more than actually eating the eggs over the next several days. I hated the dye kits that came with stickers, because just coloring an egg and applying a sticker so didn’t seem creative enough for me.

I’m still recuperating from that cold / flu — can you believe it? It’s been about two weeks now, and I’m lagging badly. Hopefully, this week will be the end of it!
